The Lebanese Emperor opened to replace a well-established Chinese restaurant in Peterborough, with the restaurant scene becoming a bustling arena due to the proliferation of local eateries.
RB’s job was to give this new restaurant quality online exposure and essentially drive people to eat there. We did this by:
A new website
A new booking system
A social media plan (facebook focused)
A social proof strategy
After a chat with Hassan, the owner, we decided to create original content and media for the website, rather than take the bland (if you’ll excuse the pun) approach many local restaurants were taking.
With this is mind, RB commissioned a professional photographer and videopgrapher to come to the premises during the engagement party of a delighted couple. The media created from this session proved to be very useful in conveying the tone and spirit of what the restaurant stands for.
Once we had the photos, we had our work cut out for us. We had to:
Create a website for the Lebanese Emperor, with a discernible difference over the competition.
Create a new logo which incorpoates the Lebanese flag, but also reflects the contemporary and elegant nature of the cuisine on offer.
Create a booking system that lets people book tables online with email confirmations, with a CMS Hassan can glance at to dictate staff rotas.
Give it visiblity on Google for local keywords.
Make a menu on the website Hassan can easily update.

We launched the website and saw over 260 visits in the first week.
It was hosted on RB’s own secure VPS for speed and security.
We crafted a video background which loaded quickly, and gave a flavour of what the Lebanese Emperor offered.
We had backups made every night to ensure nothing would be lost in the worst case scenario.
The website was, of course, mobile responsive and loaded in under 3 seconds.
Hassan also had an easy to use CMS where he could update the menu and upload new images of his delectable dishes from his phone.
Our online booking system increased table reservations by a whopping 105%. Hassan saw himself booked out on several nights
Our social media marketing also led to his Christmas party being a massive success, with a packed restaurant all night.
We encouraged customers to leave reviews on google, facebook reviews, trip advisor, just-eat. This acted as social proof and also bolstered our SEO efforts. It led to screenshots like the one below with the rich snippets, where searching for the restaurant returned lots of strong social signals, which encouraged people to visit it and eat there, which Hassan agreed was restaurant marketing at its best.
Using the SEO Tunnel, we secured some profitable results for Hassan:
We secured Hassan the #1 result on Google locally for the term ‘lebanese restaurant’, for both mobile and desktop.
The #1 spot nationally on Google for ‘Lebanese restaurant Peterborough’, attracting him hundreds of potential customers on a monthly basis.
We ended up taking over the entire first page of Google locally due to our technical and creative SEO efforts. This led to an influx of quality traffic, which resulted in table bookings.
